We’re always glad to see authoritative third parties weigh in around all matters Informix. This latest white paper by Bloor Research’s Philip Howard examines IWA (IBM Warehouse Accelerator) and finds that IWA’s unique capabilities lends itself to hybrid environments, and not just Informix environments as many may assume. It shows that in many ways it leads offerings from conventional data warehousing vendors or traditional warehouses where hybrid deployment can be difficult, if not impossible. Time series information is everywhere. The number of smart devices, sensors and instruments generating high volumes of time-stamped data is increasing. At present the free editions of database software do not have comparative benchmark data. So when Eric Vercelleto performed an independent TPC-C like benchmark test on the free edition of Informix, Innovator-C, Oninit Group jumped at the chance to write an article which draws attention to these impressive results. The stress test was based on the TPC-Benchmark developed by Professor Diego R Llanos and his team of students at the Universidad de Valladolid, Spain.
